Damyang-gun Promotes Easing of Excessive Permit Regulations Including Development Activities

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 1st that it held a Regulatory Reform Committee meeting on the 29th of last month at the county office video conference room, attended by private committee chairman Eom Dongok and public officials from the relevant regulatory departments.


At the Regulatory Reform Committee meeting, proposals for easing regulations related to important permits such as development activities that require relaxation were submitted and approved.


The proposed regulations were various regulatory complaints raised by residents, and through the Regulatory Reform TF meetings and the Regulatory Reform Committee expanded with private members, several consultations with the relevant departments and the Regulatory Reform Subcommittee were conducted to finalize the selected agenda items.


The main contents include easing excessively regulated matters compared to current higher laws and other cities/counties, such as the setback distance for solar power facilities, floor area ratio within zoning districts, permit scale and reference land price for development activities, permit standards for facilities harmful to environment and landscape, and criteria for landscape review of buildings, aiming to resolve residents' inconveniences and provide practical benefits to economic activities.


The approved regulations will be eased after going through legislative notice and ordinance amendment procedures, and in the future, regulatory discovery cases by public officials in various departments will be reviewed for improvement after sufficient opinion gathering and discussion.


Co-chairman Eom Dongok said, “Regarding the proposed regulatory easing items other than those submitted today, we will decide whether to submit them through sufficient review and consultation with the relevant department officials and the Regulatory Reform Subcommittee.”


County Governor Lee Byeongno stated, “We will continue to achieve flexible and adaptable regulatory reform in a direction where the happiness rights and property rights of residents do not infringe upon each other, to realize field administration and empathetic administration.”
