NIS Opens Cybersecurity Cooperation Center for 'Public-Private Joint Response'

The National Intelligence Service announced on the 30th that it held the opening ceremony of the "National Cybersecurity Cooperation Center" at Pangyo Techno Valley 2 in Gyeonggi-do. [Asia Economy Reporter Hee-jun Jang] A Cybersecurity Cooperation Center has opened to enable joint responses to cyber threats by government agencies, including the National Intelligence Service, and private companies.

On the 30th, the National Intelligence Service announced that it held the opening ceremony of the National Cybersecurity Cooperation Center at the 2nd Pangyo Techno Valley in Gyeonggi Province. The Cybersecurity Cooperation Center is staffed by personnel from government agencies such as the National Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of National Defense, as well as IT security companies including AhnLab, ESTsecurity, S2W, and Chainalysis.

The opening ceremony was attended by Kim Kyu-hyun, Director of the National Intelligence Service; Cho Hae-jin, Chairman of the National Assembly Intelligence Committee; Yoo Sang-beom, Secretary of the Intelligence Committee; Lee Jong-ho, Minister of Science and ICT; Lee Dong-beom, Chairman of the Information Security Industry Association; and representatives from IT companies and the information security industry.

In his welcoming speech, Kim Kyu-hyun, Director of the National Intelligence Service, said, "Through the Cybersecurity Cooperation Center, we will communicate and collaborate with overseas and public-private cybersecurity partners, striving together to create a prosperous and safe digital Korea for all."
