Must-Order Menu Items at Mom's Touch♥
“Today, I’m going to eat a hamburger!” The moment you decide this, you find yourself searching for nearby handmade burger restaurants beyond the usual franchises. Surely, many people think of their favorite franchise and famous handmade burger spots when they crave a hamburger. Depending on your condition, mood, when and with whom you’re eating, the place you go changes, but I have my own special selection criteria. When I want a hamburger, I go to franchises like McDonald’s, Burger King, or Lotteria; on special days with friends, I head to handmade burger places. It’s when I want to at least do some cutting, even if I can’t slice a steak. Occasionally, another place that comes to mind is Mom’s Touch. Although it’s a legitimate franchise burger, its chicken tastes better than other franchise burger joints, making it feel a bit more special. As for KFC, since it’s originally a chicken specialty store, I think it has a different vibe.
So today’s feature is all about Mom’s Touch. Check out which side menu item I chose among the various options right now!
Chicken (Fried, Garlic Mustard)
Mom’s Touch’s signature item is the Ssaiburger. The Ssaiburger uses thick chicken thigh meat as the chicken patty, and since chicken patties are their main menu, the chicken tastes great. The biggest advantage of Mom’s Touch chicken is the variety of flavors you can choose from. I ordered half fried, which lets you taste the classic, and half of the new Garlic Mustard flavor. The fried chicken is seasoned with a Cajun recipe in the Ssaiburger style, making it a spicy hot crispy chicken. The Garlic Mustard had almost no sharp mustard kick but had a strong garlic aroma and flavor. I wish the mustard flavor had been stronger to prevent the taste from becoming a bit monotonous halfway through.
This was my first time ordering chicken at Mom’s Touch, and it seemed like they used a huge chicken because the portion was very generous. The chicken, which is both crispy and tender, costs 17,900 KRW. Compared to chicken specialty brands, it’s reasonably priced and comes in a large portion.
Kim-Tteok-Man
Kim-Tteok-Man is a name made from the first letters of Kim Mari (seaweed roll), Tteok (rice cake), and Mandu (dumpling). I ordered the spicy flavor among the spicy and garlic options. Don’t think of it as just a simple rice cake skewer or a sauce slapped on Pikachu at a snack bar. When you start feeling greasy while eating a hamburger, the spicy flavor is great to neutralize the greasiness. It’s really spicy to show off its heat, so be careful. Even an editor proud of their tolerance for spicy food kept repeating “ssip-ha-ssip-ha” while eating it. The price is 3,000 KRW, making it a cost-effective menu item. If you’re sensitive to spice or planning to eat with children, be sure to order the garlic flavor.
Cajun Seasoned Fries
When you think of hamburgers, you think of fries, and when you think of fries, you think of Mom’s Touch. Everyone has their own preference for fries?thin and crispy fries or thick fries like Mom’s Touch that have a fluffy potato texture inside. Along with crispiness, Mom’s Touch fries are undoubtedly a pass!
Snack Balls
Mom’s Touch’s Snack Balls are round-shaped cheese balls. The Snack Ball set consists of 2 crispy cream cheese balls, 1 sweet chocolate ball, and 1 sweet caramel ball. Instead of mozzarella cheese, cream cheese is used, making them sweet yet crispy. The caramel and chocolate balls are filled generously with sauce, making them great as a snack. I recommend enjoying these more as a snack rather than a side menu that pairs with hamburgers or chicken. The price is 4,200 KRW.
Jalape?o Nuggets
If you’re tired of fries or cheese sticks, try ordering the Jalape?o Nuggets. They add jalape?o to regular chicken nuggets, allowing you to enjoy a spicy kick. Once you try them, they’re highly addictive, so I’ll definitely order them whenever I visit Mom’s Touch in the future. They’ve become my secret favorite menu! Note that no separate sauce is provided. The price is 2,000 KRW for 4 pieces.
