Word of Mouth Boosted 'Owl' Surpasses 1 Million Viewers

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] The historical drama "Owl," starring actors Yoo Hae-jin and Ryu Jun-yeol, has maintained its position at the top of the box office and surpassed 1 million viewers.


According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system as of 7 a.m. on the 30th, "Owl" (directed by Ahn Tae-jin) attracted a cumulative audience of 1,036,808, securing the number one spot at the box office.


"Owl" is a thriller depicting a one-night struggle of a blind acupuncturist who can only see at night and witnesses the death of the crown prince, striving to uncover the truth, adding cinematic imagination to a private mystery. Along with Yoo Hae-jin and Ryu Jun-yeol, the film features Choi Moo-sung, Jo Sung-ha, Park Myung-hoon, and Kim Sung-cheol. Released on the 23rd, the movie has maintained the top box office position for seven consecutive days, fueled by word of mouth.
