Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center Opens Agricultural Technology Specialized Small Library 'Nongdam (農談) Library'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] On November 29, Gijang-gun, Busan, held an opening ceremony for the 'Agricultural Technology Specialized Small Library (Nongdam Library)' at the Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center.

At the opening ceremony, County Governor Jeong Jong-bok and representatives of agricultural learning groups attended to celebrate the opening of the 'Agricultural Technology Specialized Small Library.'

The 'Agricultural Technology Specialized Small Library' was established with a total project cost of 140 million KRW (including 98 million KRW in national funds) on a 184㎡ scale to deliver the latest agricultural technology information. It features a total of 29 reading seats including an open reading desk, bar-type reading desk, and digital reading desk, as well as a self-checkout and return system.

It houses approximately 2,000 specialized books on agricultural management, crop cultivation techniques, pests and diseases, and professional materials distributed by related organizations. Periodicals and data search services are also available.

Park Mi-jin, Director of the Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center, said, “We will continue to collect not only specialized agricultural books but also various agricultural materials, and plan to operate the library as a place to discuss agriculture with those interested in agriculture and rural areas.”

The 'Agricultural Technology Specialized Small Library' is available to Busan citizens or workers and students located in Busan. Operating hours are Monday to Friday (closed on weekends and public holidays) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and members can borrow up to 5 books per person for 15 days.
