[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hyundai Home Shopping has taken steps to support small and medium-sized partner companies in expanding their overseas market channels.
Hyundai Home Shopping announced on the 30th that it participated in the '2022 Hanoi K-Wave Expo' held last month in Hanoi, Vietnam, along with 14 small and medium-sized partner companies, achieving a total consultation performance of 5.5 million USD (approximately 7.5 billion KRW).
The event, held at the Vietnam Hanoi International Exhibition Center (IEC), was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries; and Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Korea Creative Content Agency. Among domestic home shopping companies, Hyundai Home Shopping was the only participant.
The expo was successfully held with the participation of over 380 companies and buyers from 11 Southeast Asian countries including Vietnam, as well as more than 22,000 local visitors.
Hyundai Home Shopping provided various support measures to help the small and medium-sized partner companies participating in the expo successfully expand their sales channels. They supported incidental expenses required for participation, set up an 80㎡ export consultation booth and experience center to showcase the partner companies' representative products. For localized promotion, a product demonstration was held by a famous local influencer in Vietnam, which received a positive response.
Im Dae-kyu, President of Hyundai Home Shopping, said, "This expo allowed us to introduce products directly not only to local buyers but also to consumers, resulting in high satisfaction among the participating small and medium-sized partner companies. We plan to continue operating various support measures utilizing Hyundai Home Shopping’s domestic and overseas sales platforms and networks to help small and medium-sized partner companies enter overseas markets."
Meanwhile, since 2017, Hyundai Home Shopping has been operating a local market localization survey team program in Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, and other countries to support domestic small and medium-sized partner companies in pioneering overseas market channels.
