Jin Air Adopts Jeju Eongal Coastal Companion Beach

Jin Air Adopts Jeju Eongal Coastal Companion Beach Jin Air employees are conducting a cleanup activity along the coast near Suwolbong, Jeju Island, last April.

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Jin Air announced on the 29th that it has adopted Eongal Coast and Black Sand Beach in Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju City, as companion beaches.

The companion beach project is an environmental protection activity in which companies or organizations adopt beaches that require cleanup activities and take responsibility for maintaining the beaches by collecting trash and other management activities. It is a public-private cooperation project led by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation, and Jin Air is the first domestic airline to participate. Last month, it submitted a joint adoption application with the Catholic Children and Youth Foundation.

Jin Air has been interested in marine ecosystem protection activities and has been volunteering for environmental protection at Suwolbong, Jeju Island since 2019. With this companion beach participation, the company plans to expand its efforts into more systematic and sustainable activities.
