Professor Yoo Seung-gwan of Dongmyeong University Appointed as the 31st President of the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Journalism Association The "2022 Busan-Ulsan Journalism Association Academic Conference and General Meeting" is currently underway.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Professor Yoo Seung-gwan of the Department of Media Communication at Dongmyung University has been elected as the 31st president of the Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam Journalism Association.


The Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam Journalism Association held the '2022 Busan·Ulsan Journalism Association Academic Conference and General Meeting' at Dongmyung University on the 25th, where Professor Yoo Seung-gwan of the Department of Media Communication at Dongmyung University was elected as the 31st president of the Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam Journalism Association. His term will be one year starting from November 25.


In his inaugural speech, newly appointed President Yoo Seung-gwan stated, "We plan to expand the forum for exchanging theories and practical knowledge related to regional media, developing industry-academia linked curricula, and discussing virtuous cycle measures for hiring local talents at the regional level, which are the core functions of the association."


President Yoo has served as a special member of the Broadcasting and Communications Review Committee for news and culture, director and advisory member of the Busan Contents Market (BCM), executive director of the Korean Communication Association, chair of the Regional Broadcasting Research Group of the Korean Broadcasting Society, and planning director of the Korean Media Law Association.


He is currently serving as the head of the Department of Media Communication at Dongmyung University.


The 31st executive board of the Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam Journalism Association consists of Executive Director Park Eun-joo, Planning Directors Lee Sang-ho and Hwang Yeon-hee, and Research Director Professor Jung Mi-young.


Since its establishment in 1992, the Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam Journalism Association has had over 120 members, including professors in the fields of newspapers, broadcasting, and video in the Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam region.


The association publishes the journal Region and Communication and strives to promote the development of regional media and the academic foundation of journalism studies.
