Hamyang-gun Implements Shortened Interval for COVID-19 Winter Additional Vaccinations

Possible if 3 months (90 days) have passed since the vaccination or confirmation date

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that additional COVID-19 winter vaccinations (bivalent vaccine) can be administered to those aged 18 and over who have completed their second dose if at least 3 months (90 days) have passed since their last vaccination or confirmed infection.

This is based on the analysis of neutralizing antibodies against the Omicron variant, which shows that neutralizing antibodies decrease from 7 weeks after the 4th dose, and the forecast that the peak of the winter epidemic may occur earlier than previously expected.

Additionally, to minimize confusion among the public and because the bivalent vaccine, which is more effective, is recommended first, new reservations for the 3rd and 4th doses will be suspended from the 28th, and the 3rd and 4th doses will be discontinued starting December 17.
