[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The Korea Exchange announced on the 28th that it has appointed outside directors through an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders.
The outside directors appointed on this day are Byeongyun Lee, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Institute of Finance, and Hyuncheol Park, CEO of Buguk Securities. Senior Research Fellow Lee will serve as the public interest representative, and CEO Park will serve as the industry representative.
Senior Research Fellow Lee is currently a senior research fellow at the Korea Institute of Finance and has served as a member of the Financial Services Commission's Anti-Money Laundering Policy Advisory Committee and as a member of the Ministry of Economy and Finance's Climate Response Fund Management Deliberation Committee. CEO Park has served as Executive Director of Sales at Buguk Securities, Vice President at Yuri Asset Management, and CEO.
The outside director appointed as a member of the Audit Committee is Professor Taesu Kang, invited professor at KAIST College of Business. Professor Kang has served as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Korea and senior research fellow at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy.
The term of office is three years for the initial appointment and one year for reappointment. For the newly appointed outside directors Byeongyun Lee and Taesu Kang, the term is three years starting from the day after the general meeting of shareholders, the 29th. For the reappointed outside director Hyuncheol Park, the term is one year.
