[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education conducted a "Field Experience Learning to Enhance Understanding of Korean History and Culture" for 32 multicultural middle and high school students from Busan, Gyeongbuk, Seoul, and other areas over three days starting from the 23rd.
This field experience learning aimed to provide multicultural students with an opportunity to understand our country's history and culture and to feel pride as members of the nation.
The participants were students recommended by five schools and institutions, including middle school Korean language classes and alternative education entrusted institutions.
The students visited the Busan Temporary Capital Memorial Hall, Chilgok War and Peace Memorial Hall, Seoul Gyeongbokgung Palace, Cheongwadae (Blue House), and the National Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea Memorial Hall in sequence.
They also completed various tasks such as hidden word searches and creating the Liberation Army song.
The students had time to understand local and modern Korean history in connection and to explore the historical significance embedded in the establishment process of the Republic of Korea government.
The Busan Office of Education plans to compile the students' travel essays and other activity results into a booklet and provide it to the participating students this December.
Park Ji-hoon, Director of Educational Policy at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "We will continue to actively support multicultural students so that they can develop an understanding of Korean history and cultural sensitivity and grow into talents who connect our country with the world."
