[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The People Power Party's Special Committee for Organizational Strengthening will conduct interviews starting December 1 in the Seoul area to select candidates for vacant party district chair positions.
Ham In-kyung, spokesperson for the Special Committee, announced after the committee meeting held at the Yeouido party headquarters on the 28th, "Interviews in the Seoul area will be conducted over two days, December 1 and 5."
Spokesperson Ham also stated that Seoul Gangseo-byeong, the constituency of former party representative political affairs chief Kim Cheol-geun, who received a two-year suspension of party membership rights, has been added as an additional recruitment area. Although Kim filed for a retrial, it was dismissed. Ham explained the background, saying, "Since the suspension lift date is after the general election, it was decided to add it as an additional recruitment area."
Additionally, Incheon Gyeyang-gap was designated as an additional recruitment area on the same day after party district chair Lee Jung-jae voluntarily resigned. The Special Committee will hold one more meeting on the 30th ahead of the interviews.
