Budget and Accounts Subcommittee Disrupted from Morning Due to Absence of Ruling Party Lawmakers

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts' Budget Adjustment Subcommittee (Budget Subcommittee) was disrupted on the morning of the 28th due to the absence of ruling party members.

The Budget Subcommittee, which was scheduled to conduct reduction reviews of budgets under the jurisdiction of the Political Affairs Committee, Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, and the Steering Committee starting at 10 a.m. that day, has not convened so far due to the absence of ruling party members.

The Special Committee on Budget and Accounts had planned to complete the reduction review by the 25th, proceed with the increase review, and approve next year's budget at the full Budget Committee meeting on the 30th. However, the reduction review process has been prolonged as the ruling and opposition parties engaged in heated debates over the 'Yoon Seok-yeol administration's' budget items, such as the relocation to Yongsan and the conversion of the Blue House into a park.
