[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] CJ Olive Young announced on the 28th that Gangnam Town, a representative commercial area near Gangnam Station, has completed a full renewal after 5 years and reopened with a new look.


Since Gangnam is a commercial area where trends change rapidly and the majority of the floating population is in their 20s and 30s, Olive Young plans to use Gangnam Town as a forward base to target the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z).


Olive Young placed emphasis on ‘customer experience’ and ‘trend curation’ in this renewal. To this end, they strengthened premium brands, introduced a food-specialized zone, and also prominently positioned strategic product groups such as ‘clean & vegan beauty’ and ‘W care’ linked with product planning (MD) strategies.


The area that received the most focus was premium brands. Reflecting the characteristics of the commercial area where demand for color cosmetics is high, they combined the value of offline experience to create a unique strength for Gangnam Town. Gangnam Town has newly opened global haircare specialist brand 'Roma' and total beauty brand 'Three', allowing customers to find the largest selection of over 20 premium brands among all Olive Young stores nationwide.


The ‘Healthy Food Market’ located on the 2nd floor is the only food-specialized zone among all Olive Young stores nationwide. In line with the rising wellness trend, the space is composed not only of health foods such as inner beauty and slimming products but also general foods including traditional liquor and wine.


An Olive Young official said, “Reflecting the rapidly changing characteristics of the commercial area, Gangnam Town has been transformed into a space where you can first experience the trends proposed by Olive Young,” adding, “We will solidify our position as a landmark on Gangnam-daero by introducing Olive Young’s strategic product groups such as premium cosmetics, alcoholic beverages, and W care.”
