[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] On the 25th, when the National School Irregular Workers Solidarity launched a general strike demanding the elimination of wage discrimination and improvement of working conditions, alternative meals were provided at a middle school in Seoul.

The National School Irregular Workers Solidarity is conducting a one-day strike, demanding the elimination of wage discrimination with regular workers, comprehensive measures against cafeteria-related lung cancer, and opposition to the reduction of education grants. According to the organizers, the scale of participation in the strike is 80,000, marking the largest general strike since COVID-19.

Each metropolitan and provincial office of education prepared alternative meals such as lunch boxes or bread and milk.
