Youth Budget 24 Trillion... Smart Platform 'Yeolgodatgi' Reducing the 'Information Gap'

Youth Budget 24 Trillion... Smart Platform 'Yeolgodatgi' Reducing the 'Information Gap'

"The government's youth policies are a field where those who know about them utilize them well, but those who don't know never benefit from them throughout their lives, creating a serious information gap."

Won Gyuhee, CEO of Dodohan Collabo (pictured), first learned about housing policies for youth while looking for a monthly rental house in Seoul in her twenties. Until then, she was not well informed about youth policies and vaguely assumed she was not eligible. CEO Won said, "I discovered that many people around me shared similar thoughts," adding, "I started this business hoping that more young people could take on new challenges without being burdened by their livelihood."

During her university years, CEO Won gained various internship experiences at Samsung Electronics, Korail, and Seoul City Hall, which led her to decide to start a business. She said, "I wanted to live a proactive and growing life and contribute to society through my work." While participating in Google's social innovation project competition, the 'Google Impact Challenge,' she learned about social ventures and social enterprises that can play social roles beyond profit-making purposes. She then conceived 'Yeolgodatgi,' a specialized platform for youth policies that helps young people settle stably in society.

She actively utilized programs such as the youth project investment business and social entrepreneur nurturing projects operated by Seoul City to secure initial business funds.

Launched in August 2020, Yeolgodatgi goes beyond simply promoting youth policies by explaining the business content and eligibility criteria in an easy-to-understand way and even recommending tailored policies. Through seven surveys including age, residence, and income level, users can receive policy recommendations suited to them. CEO Won said, "The youth budget is continuously increasing and will reach 24 trillion won next year," adding, "We need not only policy promotion but also channels that explain policies simply and allow youth to propose policies themselves."

Currently, the website has accumulated 160,000 users, with monthly visitors increasing by about 20%. While revenue is currently generated by producing promotional videos commissioned by the government, local governments, and public institutions, there are plans to diversify the business using youth policy data in the future.

Dodohan Collabo, currently a preliminary social enterprise, aims to bridge the information gap in the world through IT and content. CEO Won said, "The phrase 'average missing' has emerged as young people's tendencies and needs are becoming more diverse and segmented," adding, "I hope young people gain the driving force for new challenges through Yeolgodatgi."
