[Asia Economy Reporter Ji Yeon-jin] Carrysoft surged to the daily limit on the 25th following news that its produced animation passed Chinese censorship.
As of 10:30 AM that day, Carrysoft was trading at 7,960 KRW, up 29.85% from the previous day.
The sharp rise appears to be due to news that the company's 3D animated film for children and families will be screened in China.
Earlier, the company announced that "Carry and Super Cola" passed the Chinese government's film content review, allowing it to be screened in cinemas nationwide.
According to Carry China, the Chinese subsidiary, they recently received notification from the China Film Administration that "Carry and Super Cola" passed the mandatory content review required for screening in Chinese cinemas, and preparations are underway for its screening in early next year.
"Carry and Super Cola" is the first feature-length animated film produced based on the "Carry and Friends" IP (intellectual property). Carry China, the rights holder of the Carry IP in China, has been producing animation with stories suitable for Chinese culture and has been proceeding with the film censorship process for screening in China.
