[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actor Kwon Sang-woo returns with a comedy film where the lives of a top star and a livelihood manager are swapped overnight.

At the production presentation of the movie Switch (directed by Ma Daeyoon) held on the morning of the 23rd at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, Kwon Sang-woo said, "It was the first time while acting that my father came to mind," adding, "This work holds special meaning."

Set to be released in January, Switch tells the story of Park Kang, a top star who is the number one casting choice, a ten-million viewer actor, and a self-proclaimed scandal maker enjoying a glamorous single life, whose life is turned upside down on Christmas. Kwon Sang-woo plays Park Kang, who goes from a reckless star to a penniless manager, while Oh Jung-se plays Jo Yoon, who transforms from a struggling manager to a top star specializing in unrequited love.

Kwon Sang-woo said, "I immersed myself in the role of top star Park Kang on set. When living the manager’s life, I focused on the subtle differences that change while living with family." Oh Jung-se added, "I did not differentiate between the top star and the manager but rather tried to delve into the character."

Previously, Oh Jung-se also played a top star in Man’s User Manual (2013). He explained, "Back then, the character was centered on a lovable but flawed figure, whereas Switch offers great fun from the contrast between the two characters. The concept was different." Regarding the top star played by Oh Jung-se, Kwon Sang-woo said, "I was impressed every moment. I acted without putting much effort on set, but it was well expressed. I felt the subtle differences."

Director Ma Daeyoon said, "I wrote the script with Kwon Sang-woo and Oh Jung-se in mind. The script went through revisions to cast both actors. Both fit well with the feeling of top star and manager, which was great." He continued, "It was important to express similar but different points in the same situation." Kwon Sang-woo said, "I think this is the combination audiences expect. I hope they enjoy it." Director Ma expressed confidence, saying, "Although it has a simple structure with a story about lives being swapped, it will be a film filled with laughter and emotion."

Lee Min-jung, who stars alongside Kwon Sang-woo as his spouse, said, "Before filming, I met his real family, and he was a good father who played well with the children." Kwon Sang-woo added, "Our second daughter and Min-jung’s son are the same age, so they got along well." There was no problem filming the kissing scenes either. Kwon Sang-woo joked, "There was an intense kissing scene, but Min-jung said, ‘Action,’ and suggested we do it all at once, which made it comfortable."

Lee Min-jung, returning to the screen after 10 years with Switch, said, "I had a break due to childbirth and other reasons. I like warm movies, and since this is a genre that anyone can relate to and enjoy while talking about life, I decided to appear."
