[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Osstem Implant announced on the 23rd that it conducted a volunteer service called "Meals Full of Love" together with Nanumi Corporation, a non-profit organization carrying out support projects for socioeconomically vulnerable groups.
Nanumi Corporation, the successor of the "Sharing Community" launched in 1999, has been continuously carrying out welfare projects such as free meal provision, self-sufficiency assistance, and support for low-income groups for over 20 years. Recently, it has been focusing on providing meals to homeless people and residents of jjokbangchon (small room villages) around Seoul Station, using the Seoul Municipal Warm Filling Center near Seoul Station as a base.
For this event, Osstem Implant supported 300 lunch boxes and a cafe vehicle, and gifted oral care sets to all meal participants. In addition, employees personally went to the site to assist with meal distribution and carried out volunteer activities.
Kim Hae-yeon, General Director of Nanumi, said, "Unlike the usual tray meals, we provided special lunch boxes along with coffee and gifts, which made the elderly even happier. Although the volunteer work is being carried out with interest from various sectors, there are still many areas that need attention and care, so we hope that more organizations and companies will continue warm relationships."
Osstem Implant participated in this sponsorship through its connection with customer dental clinics. Park Seo-jung, director of Tribailer Dental Clinic, who has been steadily participating in Nanumi volunteer work, heard that the meal service project was facing financial difficulties and requested help from Osstem Implant. With the sponsorship confirmed, Tribailer Dental Clinic decided to close for the day, and all staff participated in on-site volunteer activities, adding significance to the event.
Shin Tae-ha, Head of SD Service Division at Osstem Implant, said, "There was a sincere request from a customer dental clinic that has been using our hospital electronic medical record (EMR) system for a long time, and since this is a matter that all members of society should care about, we gladly decided to support it as a member of civil society. It was even more rewarding to carry out volunteer activities sweating together with our employees beyond simple sponsorship."
Osstem Implant is actively engaged in social contribution and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, including sponsoring the "2022 Korea Wheelchair Curling League," held over two months from September to early November, hosted by the Korea Disabled Curling Association. The dental college scholarship project, which started in 2003 and has continued for 20 years, has expanded to include majors in dental hygiene and dental technology. Additionally, 30 overseas subsidiaries carry out social contributions tailored to local circumstances, such as free clinical education, refugee medical treatment and education support, and sponsoring Taekwondo competitions.
