Held 'Love Kimchi Making' Event at Changwon Yongji Cultural Park
Gyeongnam Changwon Special City announced that the Changwon Volunteer Organizations Council held the '2022 Love Kimchi Making' event at Changwon Yongji Cultural Park.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 21st that the Changwon Volunteer Organizations Council held the ‘2022 Love Kimchi Making’ event at Changwon Yongji Cultural Park.
This kimchi-making event is a sharing event conducted by the Changwon Volunteer Organizations Council, where 1,020 boxes of kimchi (7 kg per box) were delivered to low-income households and welfare facilities in five district offices to support warm winter care for neighbors in need.
Especially this year’s Love Kimchi Making event was held for the first time in three years since COVID-19, with about 230 volunteers including council members, employees of the Good Day Sharing Foundation, and members of the Bright Society International Club participating together. They carefully prepared the kimchi with the mindset of feeding their own families, mixing the kimchi by hand and packing the boxes for sharing.
Jeon Tae-wan, chairman of the Changwon Volunteer Organizations Council, said, “I thank the members who participated in the kimchi-making event for neighbors in need despite their busy daily lives. We will continue to actively practice volunteering and sharing to create a community where we live together.”
Kim Jong-pil, director of the Welfare, Women, and Health Bureau, said, “We hope to continuously promote the Love Kimchi Sharing event so that the culture of neighborly love and sharing will spread further.”
