[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 20th that it recently conducted a campaign to promote emergency response guidelines for citizens amid rising inter-Korean tensions following North Korea's successive missile launches.
This campaign was led by about 20 members of the Geochang-eup Women's Volunteer Fire Brigade, promoting three essential safety measures to remember in emergencies: ▲Prepare thoroughly ▲Evacuate safely ▲Listen carefully, to help people stay calm and secure safety in urgent situations.
They also visited shops around intersections and the Geochang traditional market to inform residents about the meaning of air raid alarms, confirm emergency evacuation sites, and explain evacuation methods.
County Governor Goo In-mo said, “Disasters can occur anytime and anywhere, and the extent of damage can vary greatly depending on how we respond. Therefore, I urge everyone to actively prepare to respond to emergencies at all times.”
In case of an emergency, Geochang-gun has 21 civil defense evacuation facilities, which can be immediately checked via the smartphone Safety Didimdol app. If suspicious persons or explosive objects are found, calling 1338 without an area code will connect directly to the nearest military unit.
