Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, Operates COVID-19 Vaccine 'Winter Intensive Vaccination Period'

The target group includes Jangseong residents aged 60 and over, residents and workers of infection-vulnerable facilities such as nursing hospitals. Residents aged 60 and over who complete the 4th vaccination have a 62.6% lower risk of COVID-19 death compared to those who have received only the 2nd vaccination. The risk of severe illness also decreases by 69.6%.

The vaccine administered is a "bivalent vaccine" that can respond to the Omicron variant. It is known to have 1.6 to 2.6 times higher infection prevention effectiveness compared to existing vaccines.

During the intensive vaccination period, vaccination is possible by visiting vaccination hospitals without prior reservation. The county has secured sufficient vaccine supplies in advance to respond to the winter intensive vaccination.

A Jangseong-gun official said, "We plan to guide vaccine vaccination by making full use of disaster messages, neighborhood newsletters, banners, and electronic display boards," and added, "We hope that no one misses getting vaccinated."
