[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province awarded 'Excellent Job Creation Company' certificates to 72 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province that have worked hard to create jobs and restore the livelihood economy despite difficulties such as COVID-19 and the global economic recession.

Gyeonggi Province announced that on the 18th, it held the '2022 Gyeonggi Province Excellent Job Creation Company Certificate Award Ceremony' at the Grand Ballroom of Ramada Plaza Suwon Hotel.

Since 2009, Gyeonggi Province has introduced and implemented the 'Excellent Job Creation Company Certification System'?the first among local governments nationwide?to provide various benefits to SMEs in the province that have made efforts to create employment, improve working conditions, and enhance worker welfare, thereby encouraging continuous job creation.

This year, a total of 72 companies were selected as Excellent Job Creation Companies. The certification period is two years, and it can be extended once for an additional two years if certain conditions are met.

These 72 companies contributed to revitalizing the employment market by newly hiring 990 people (an average of 13.75 people per company) over the past year.

In addition, they introduced various employee welfare systems such as overseas training for outstanding employees, childbirth support funds, family care leave systems, and operation of fitness centers, which greatly contributed to creating quality, 'people-centered' jobs.

The province provides a total of 28 benefits to certified Excellent Job Creation Companies, including exemption from local tax audits for three years and additional points when applying for SME development funds.

In particular, support funds of up to 40 million KRW per company are provided for improving employment environments such as workplaces or worker welfare facilities.

Yeom Tae-young, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeonggi Province, promised, "Despite the difficult domestic and international economic conditions, we will maximize tailored dedicated support for Excellent Job Creation Companies that have worked hard for employment stability and welfare enhancement."
