Operation Suspended on Sillim Line Due to Track Abnormality... "Emergency Repairs Underway"

[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] On the afternoon of the 17th, the Seoul Metropolitan Subway Sillim Line suspended operations due to a track anomaly.

According to the city, at around 6:32 PM that day, an abnormality occurred on the guide rail near the turnout (a device that moves trains to different tracks) at Boramae Park Station on the Sillim Line, and emergency repair work is currently underway. As a result, train operations have been suspended at all stations on the Sillim Line.

The city plans to deploy reserve vehicles on four bus routes (152, 461, 5516, 6514) that overlap with the Sillim Line to minimize inconvenience for citizens. Seoul City explained, "All Sillim Line staff have been stationed at stations to provide operation suspension guidance, and train service will resume promptly once repairs are completed."

Opened at the end of May this year, the Sillim Line is a light rail line 7.8 km long connecting Yeouido Saetgang Station and Gwanaksan (Seoul National University) Station. It offers transfers to Subway Line 9 (Saetgang Station), Line 1 (Daebang Station), Line 7 (Boramae Station), and Line 2 (Sillim Station).
