Dong-Eui University Dong-Eui Media, Busan MBC Regional News Contest Grand Prize

The Dongui Press team is taking a commemorative photo with officials after winning the Grand Prize at the '2022 Busan MBC Regional News Contest.'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] Dong-Eui University’s campus media outlet, Dong-Eui Media, won the Grand Prize at the ‘2022 Busan MBC Regional News Contest’ hosted by Busan MBC.

Participating in the contest under the team name Dong-Eui Media, Kim Nayeon, editor-in-chief of the Dong-Eui University newspaper, and reporter Lee Yujin submitted a news piece titled “2023 Busan World Expo Bid Support ? Is Simple Promotion Without Information Okay?” and were selected for the Grand Prize.

The awards ceremony was held on the 15th at the Busan MBC broadcasting station, where they received the Busan MBC President’s Award and a prize of 1 million KRW.

Kim Nayeon, editor-in-chief of the Dong-Eui University newspaper, said, “Planning news on local issues and going through the difficult process of reporting, filming, and editing was challenging, but seeing the completed video and everyone’s empathy makes me proud,” adding, “I hope many people take an interest in local problems and join in thinking together to create a wonderful city of Busan.”

Busan MBC held a four-month open call for broadcast news on any topic for the public good of the local community, targeting citizens of Busan and Yangsan from June 7 to October 7.

The Grand Prize went to Minwook Cheon’s “Baenaegol, Two Rabbits of Environment and Tourism,” and the Special Prize was awarded to Seungcheon Jeong’s “Smart? Eoljuka? Acoustic Signal Device.”

The Excellence Awards were given to the Mabul team (Choi Woojin, Ahn Seongjae) for “Future Plans for the Site After YK Steel Relocation” and the Sseujupnam team for “We Visited the Place Where All Busan City’s Garbage Is Collected.”
