[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] The development team of Neowiz's "P-ui Geojit," a highly anticipated console game for next year, expressed their determination to become a source of pride for Korean console games.
Choi Ji-won, producer (PD) of Neowiz's P-ui Geojit, introduced at the G-STAR game exhibition held in Busan on the 17th, "We developed P-ui Geojit with the goal of achieving meaningful results not only in mobile but also in console and PC fields."
P-ui Geojit recently achieved a triple crown at the European game show Gamescom, becoming the first Korean game company to do so. It is a console game that adapts the classic fairy tale Pinocchio into an adult-oriented brutal drama and is scheduled for release next year.
As a differentiating element in P-ui Geojit, the team pointed to combat. They explained that they designed rules never experienced before, systematized elements fitting those rules, and created constant meta changes so that the fun of combat can be maintained for as long as possible.
Additionally, they emphasized action by making the cause-and-effect relationship between offense and defense quick and clear, and by focusing on making it visually perceptible and understandable for users.
Producer Choi said, "The Souls-like genre is known for being difficult, but P-ui Geojit is not absurdly hard," adding, "As players progress through the game, they accumulate experience and judgment, and once these are sufficiently built up, the difficulty becomes enjoyable."
He also shared the goals he wants to achieve through the game's release next year. Producer Choi emphasized, "Rather than specific sales numbers, I definitely want users to evaluate it as a fun game," and "I want it to be a source of pride that Korea can also present well-made console games."
Regarding the current status of domestic game companies entering the console game market, he gave a positive evaluation. Producer Choi said, "In the console and multiplatform fields, there are often very few developers with experience, so development is challenging, but based on the experience and development capabilities accumulated so far, we want to engage in healthy competition."
