Naju-si Expands Vaccination Campaign in Preparation for COVID-19 Resurgence

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do, is expanding additional winter vaccine vaccinations for adults aged 18 and over in preparation for the resurgence of COVID-19.

According to the city on the 17th, as of the 16th, the winter additional vaccination rate in Naju City is 6.8%, the highest among the five cities in the province, with 7,905 people vaccinated out of a total of 116,284.

Additional vaccination is available to those aged 18 and over who have completed the basic vaccination (1st and 2nd doses), and the number of vaccines has been increased to three types, including Pfizer BA·4/5, allowing same-day vaccination without prior reservation at 27 designated hospitals and clinics in the area.

The public health center is conducting on-site vaccinations for about 2,240 residents and workers in 65 high-risk infection facilities such as nursing homes for the mobility-impaired to increase the vaccination rate.

In addition, efforts are being made to support advance reservations by expanding reservation institutions at 20 eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare centers and health clinics (medical offices), and operating mobile advance reservation booths.

Seo Hyunseung, director of the public health center, said, "With the emergence of new variant viruses and the decrease in vaccination effectiveness over time accelerating the resurgence of COVID-19, the bivalent vaccine vaccination is very important."
