[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] Comedian Kim Min-kyung (41), who is serving as a promotional ambassador for Daegu City and gaining popularity on various entertainment programs, will represent the country in an international shooting competition involving over 100 countries.
Although Kim first encountered shooting as a beginner through an entertainment program last year, she demonstrated outstanding shooting skills and earned eligibility to participate in international competitions by passing the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC KOREA) qualification exam held by the Korea Practical Shooting Federation in June this year. She was then selected as one of the final two female representatives among 15 who passed the national team selection.
The ‘2022 IPSC Handgun World Shoot’ competition in which Kim will participate is an LV. 5 shooting event with 1,600 participants from over 100 countries, boasting the largest scale worldwide, and is being held for the first time in over three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Appointed as Daegu City’s promotional ambassador in July 2021, Kim Min-kyung has earned nicknames such as ‘The Special Agent Who Lost Her Memory’ and ‘The Talent Missed by Taereung,’ gaining popularity for her exceptional athletic ability and entertainment skills. She frequently introduces the charms of her hometown Daegu on various programs and actively participates in promotional activities to widely promote Daegu and enhance the city’s image despite her tight schedule.
