Designated as an Official Electronic Document Intermediary
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] From now on, documents that had to be received by registered mail can be checked in the KakaoBank app.
On the 17th, KakaoBank announced that it has been designated as an official electronic document intermediary by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the first among internet-only banks.
An official electronic document intermediary is a qualification that allows electronic documents to be delivered to customers online with the same effect as registered mail.
Starting January next year, KakaoBank plans to enable users to check documents that were previously only available via registered mail in the KakaoBank app, such as deposit balance statements and KakaoBank notices, public institution documents like national and local taxes, fines, vehicle inspection due notices, and bills from private businesses.
KakaoBank's authentication business will also be launched in earnest. KakaoBank was already designated as a personal identification agency last October and plans to secure an electronic signature certification license early next year.
