Goheung-gun Cultural Tourism Guide Communication Meeting Held

Tourists Pledge Commitment to Make Goheung a Place They Want to Visit Again

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) held a 'Cultural Tourism Guide Communication Meeting' at the Goheung-gun Office Heungyang Hall on the 15th.

This meeting was held to commend the efforts of cultural tourism guides who welcome tourists on the front lines of the county, listen to voices from the tourism field, and establish tourism promotion strategies for the 8th local government administration.

At the meeting, the cultural tourism guides freely exchanged opinions on measures to improve tourism conditions such as ▲ urging the opening of Sorokdo ▲ increasing ferry operations to Yeonhongdo ▲ additional installation of wheelchairs at waiting stations ▲ expansion of large bus parking areas at traditional markets ▲ maintenance of tourism facilities, and also pledged to carefully convey Goheung's tourism resources so that tourists can be deeply moved and revisit Goheung.

Currently, 18 cultural tourism guides are active in Goheung-gun, dedicating themselves to supporting an average of 6 hours per day and 17 explanation activities per month per person. Accordingly, the county is making efforts to improve working conditions by installing ▲ tourist information waiting stations ▲ maintaining convenience items ▲ conducting advanced education and healing workshops in areas frequently visited by tourists.

Governor Gong Young-min said, “Cultural tourism guides are the moving brand of Goheung, and the image of Goheung depends on your work. To accelerate the era of 10 million Goheung tourists, I ask you to strive to provide even more excellent professional explanation services,” and urged, “Have pride and fulfill your duties as guides.”

A county official said, “We will review, supplement, and accept the various opinions raised at the meeting, and continuously improve the working environment of cultural tourism guides to provide better tourism services to tourists visiting Goheung.”
