Daewoong Pet and V One Bio Sign Business Agreement to Develop Probiotic Supplements Derived from Healthy Dogs

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Daewoong Pet, a pet healthcare company, announced on the 17th that it has signed a business agreement with V1 Bio, a microbiome specialist company, to develop nutritional supplements using probiotics derived from healthy dogs.


Through this agreement, Daewoong Pet and V1 Bio plan to start developing nutritional supplements exclusively for dogs. Daewoong Pet will provide expertise in animal pharmaceuticals and pet supplement development, while V1 Bio will support pet microbiome research capabilities. In the future, Daewoong Pet plans to develop customized products for pets using probiotics collected from healthy dogs to secure differentiation in the domestic pet market.


They will also promote customized healthcare services through pet gut microbiome analysis. V1 Bio intends to expand its microbiome expertise and business scope into the pet industry through collaboration with Daewoong Pet.


Moon Jae-bong, CEO of Daewoong Pet, said, "Through this cooperation, we believe we can develop differentiated dog nutritional supplements in the market using probiotics derived from healthy dogs," adding, "We look forward to continuous collaboration with V1 Bio on product development and microbiome analysis services."


Kim Il-hwan, CEO of V1 Bio, said, "This agreement is a very meaningful collaboration in that V1 Bio's microbiome research capabilities meet Daewoong Pet, a leader in pet healthcare, to promote mutual development," and added, "We will continuously develop innovative microbiome-based products such as pet products and therapeutics."
