US Hot Sauce Brand Lifestyle Survey ... People Who Eat Spicy Food More Often Have More Sexual Activity
Spicy Food Ingredients Help Sexual Life and Longevity by Improving Blood Circulation
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lee Gyehwa] Many people enjoy spicy food despite the pain that reaches their tongues. Especially on days when they want to relieve stress, they sometimes show off their 'Maepbushim' (the pride of enduring and eating spicy food well). However, while there are 'Maepgosu' who relieve stress by sweating after eating spicy food, there are also 'Maepjjili' (people sensitive to spicy food) who break out in cold sweat after eating spicy food.
On the 16th (local time), a lifestyle survey by the American hot sauce brand El Yucateco on preferences for spicy food revealed an interesting result that spicy food is related not only to simple likes and dislikes but also to 'sexual activity.'
The researchers divided people into two groups: those who like and frequently eat spicy food and those who do not, and investigated the average number of sexual encounters per month. As a result, people who like and eat spicy food well reported an average of 5.3 sexual encounters per month. Those who did not like spicy food reported an average of 3.2 sexual encounters per month.
Research also showed that people who like spicy food tend to be more adventurous, goal-oriented, highly challenging, and extroverted compared to those who do not. In terms of hobbies, people who like spicy food had active hobbies such as cooking, camping, and exercising, while those who did not enjoy spicy food had hobbies like reading and watching TV. Maepgosu preferred movie genres such as horror, thriller, and action. Maepjjili preferred romance and romantic comedy genres.
A study published in the British academic journal 'Food Research International' also reported that spicy food helps stimulate sexual desire more. According to a 2015 study by Harvard School of Public Health, spicy food is also effective for longevity. The spicy components in chili peppers are known to relax blood vessels and improve blood circulation to the heart and reproductive organs.
