Yeongyang-gun Holds Second Half Mental Emergency Response Council Meeting Yeongyang-gun held a meeting of the Mental Emergency Response Council for the second half of the year.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongyang County, Gyeongbuk, held a mental emergency response council meeting on the 15th at the public health center, where related local institutions gathered to effectively respond to psychiatric emergency situations.


The meeting was attended by officials from Yeongyang County Mental Health Welfare Center, Yeongyang Police Station·119 Safety Center, Cheongsong Jinbo Hospital, County Resident Welfare Division, and the Office of Education, who reviewed the current status of mental emergency responses and discussed the roles and cooperation matters of each institution through sharing cases of psychiatric emergencies.


In the first half of the year, the mental emergency response council was composed of the Mental Health Welfare Center, health, welfare, police, and fire departments, but in the second half, the Yeongyang Office of Education and Youth Counseling Center, which handle counseling for children and adolescents, also joined the council to establish a mental emergency response system and plan effective emergency response and support measures for the upcoming year 2023.


Jang Yeo-jin, director of the public health center, said, “In psychiatric emergency situations, related institutions will cooperate to respond safely and promptly, doing our best to protect the health and safety of patients with mental illnesses, their families, and ultimately the residents.”
