Health and Medical Research Institute Holds Forum on 'Strategies for Applying Non-Face-to-Face Medical Services'

[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] The National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA) announced on the 16th that it will hold a forum on the 28th in the afternoon under the theme "Models and Applications of Non-face-to-face Medical Services Needed for Domestic Introduction."


NECA is currently conducting a joint study with Professor Heonseong Kim of the Catholic University Medical School titled "Exploratory Study on Application Areas Needed According to the Characteristics of Non-face-to-face Medical Services." Previously, forums on strategies for applying non-face-to-face medical services were held three times in May, July, and September.


At this forum, NECA will present the results of its research on non-face-to-face medical services. First, Senior Researcher Hyowon Seo of NECA will present "Recent 3-year Research Trends and Key Results of Non-face-to-face Medical Services," followed by Associate Researcher Narae Lee’s presentation on "Empirical Analysis for Institutionalization of Non-face-to-face Medical Services." Associate Researcher Heeseon Kim will share the results of the first to third forum operations and expert survey results under the theme "Models and Applications of Non-face-to-face Medical Services Needed for Domestic Introduction."


Professor Yongjin Kwon of Seoul National University will present "A Study on Legal Improvement Measures for Domestic Non-face-to-face Medical Services," and Professor Woncheol Cha of Samsung Seoul Hospital’s Department of Emergency Medicine will follow with "Future Tasks and Messages for the Application of Non-face-to-face Medical Services."


The discussion will be chaired by Professor Heonseong Kim and will include Professor Yooseok Kim of Yonsei University Graduate School of Public Health, Legislative Research Officer Manwoo Lee of the National Assembly Legislative Research Office, Policy Director Chungki Kim of the Korean Medical Association, Director Insun Choi of NECA’s Healthcare Research Headquarters, and Officer Hyunjun Shin of the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Medical Policy Division, who will conduct a comprehensive discussion together.


The forum is free to watch for anyone via NECA’s YouTube channel after pre-registration.


Director Kwanghyup Han of NECA said, "Our agency has conducted research for one year to prepare application plans for non-face-to-face medical services suitable for the domestic medical environment," adding, "Through this forum, we hope to derive expert consensus proposals that can be applied in Korea’s medical field."
