[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Singer Kim Heejae explained that he followed proper procedures amid allegations of receiving special treatment during his military service.

On the 10th, Segye Ilbo reported that Kim Heejae violated Article 30 (Prohibition of Profit-making Activities and Concurrent Positions) of the Act on the Status and Service of Military Personnel by signing a management contract with an entertainment agency during his military service. The report cited the provision that military personnel are prohibited from engaging in profit-making activities outside of military duties.

According to the report, on November 23, 2019, Kim Heejae signed a contract with Mister Trot Cultural Industry Specialized Company LLC, delegating all rights related to entertainment activities after ranking in the top 8 of TV Chosun's "Mister Trot." The show ended on March 14, 2020, but his discharge date was three days later, on the 17th.

Regarding this, a representative of the agency stated, "Kim Heejae reported the management contract and appearance fees to the military band and acted according to their instructions."
