"Timely Expansion of Power Grid in 3rd New Towns"… LH-Korea Electric Power Collaboration Expands LH Shin Kyung-chul, Director of the Land and Urban Development Headquarters (right), and Kim Tae-ok, Director of the Power Grid Headquarters at Korea Electric Power Corporation (left), are posing for a commemorative photo after signing a business agreement on the 9th.

Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 10th that it has signed a 'Win-Win Cooperation Agreement for Power Supply Stability and Improvement of National Housing' with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).

This agreement was promoted to swiftly advance the undergrounding of transmission lines within all LH project districts and to supply power stably in order to expand housing supply, a government national agenda.

Earlier in June, the two organizations signed a business agreement for relocating transmission lines targeting the Namyangju area project district.

Overhead transmission lines within the district require timely undergrounding according to the project period and housing supply schedule. Additionally, proactive power infrastructure development must be carried out to meet the increasing power demand due to project promotion.

For this, collaboration between KEPCO, which plays a pivotal role in national power supply, and LH is essential. Both institutions are actively cooperating to underground obstructing transmission lines and expand power infrastructure in 29 project districts nationwide, including the 3rd New Town.

In particular, under this agreement, the two organizations plan to conduct △prior consultation on power facility sites considering the power system △strengthen cooperation for the swift promotion of undergrounding projects within the project districts △operate a working-level consultative body to enhance the execution of the MOU.

Through this agreement, it is expected that projects will be promoted timely, and residents will be provided with a safe and pleasant living environment due to excellent conditions such as expanded power infrastructure.

Shin Kyung-cheol, Head of LH's National Land and Urban Development Headquarters, said, "We will do our best to actively collaborate with KEPCO on tasks necessary for creating a safe residential environment, such as undergrounding transmission lines, to supply housing on time."
