Cultural Heritage Administration Prepares Braille Guide Signs at Cheongwadae

The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on the 10th that comprehensive information boards with tactile Braille have been installed at the Blue House's Chunchoogwan, Yeongbinmun, and main gate. These boards feature Braille and tactile maps that visually impaired individuals can understand through touch, along with explanatory texts. They record information about the Blue House's past as the rear garden of Gyeongbokgung Palace and the locations of facilities. The boards were produced by POSCO Steelion, with consultation from National Assembly member Kim Yeji and the Korea Association of Welfare Centers for the Disabled. The size of the boards ranges from 860mm to 1060mm in width and 1400mm to 2150mm in height. They are similar to the boards installed at Gyeongbokgung Palace in November last year. Choi Eungcheon, head of the Cultural Heritage Administration, stated, "We will continue to develop proactive policies to eliminate blind spots in public services for socially vulnerable groups."
