Kim So-young, Vice Chairperson, "New Start Fund Must Provide Real Help to Small Business Owners" On the morning of the 9th, Kim So-young, Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, visited the Central Integrated Support Center for Low-Income Finance of the Credit Recovery Committee in Jung-gu, Seoul, to inspect the New Start Fund consultation booth, check the status of debt adjustment applications, and discuss measures to strengthen promotion.

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] Kim Soyoung, Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, emphasized that the New Start Fund must provide practical assistance to small business owners and self-employed individuals, and stressed the need to establish an efficient cooperation system among related organizations for the stable settlement of the New Start Fund.


On the 9th, Vice Chairman Kim visited the Credit Recovery Committee's Central Integrated Support Center for Low-Income Finance, where consultations and applications for the New Start Fund are being conducted, and made these remarks.


Marking one month since the launch of the New Start Fund, Vice Chairman Kim inspected the consultation booth, checked the status of debt adjustment applications, and discussed ways to strengthen publicity. She also listened to opinions regarding small business owners and self-employed individuals through related organizations such as the Small Enterprise and Market Service and the Korea Federation of SMEs, and heard about difficulties faced by counselors who are in direct contact with customers.


Vice Chairman Kim stated, "Going forward, the New Start Fund must provide practical help to small business owners and self-employed individuals," and ordered, "We will strengthen publicity to ensure that small business owners and self-employed individuals who truly need debt adjustment through the New Start Fund do not miss out due to lack of awareness." Along with this, she urged efforts to improve the New Start Fund's online platform and other interfaces to be more user-oriented, and to enable prompt and friendly service through the enhancement of customer service staff capabilities.


Vice Chairman Kim emphasized the necessity of establishing an efficient cooperation system among related organizations for the stable settlement of the New Start Fund, and called for continuous institutional improvements through regular meetings between agencies.


She added, "A screening system must be established to dispel concerns about moral hazard," and requested, "Please operate it with special care to ensure that good-faith users are not unfairly excluded in this process."
