[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] As the domestic atopic dermatitis cosmetics market continues to grow, eco-friendly naturalistic cosmetic brands are gaining attention.

According to the cosmetics industry on the 9th, Julia Lu of Sesangui Modeun Appa was recently selected as a research project participant for the 'Atopy Healing School,' which applies the Atocare program through the combined efforts of the government, local governments, and educational institutions.

According to data from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, as of this year, the number of children and adolescents with atopic dermatitis is approaching 1.3 million. The domestic atopic cosmetics market size is estimated to be around 100 billion KRW.

Various atopy improvement products based on genetic factors, immunological factors, skin barrier factors, and environmental factors are being developed in the market. However, the industry states that material development is limited, requiring much research and development.

Julia Lu Pi discovered that the plant-derived ingredient 'Cumin Formula Core Derm' has atopy improvement efficacy and, after two years of repeated research, obtained a core technology patent. Subsequently, they developed an optimal composition and launched atopy functional improvement cosmetics in 2018. The products have also been certified through skin irritation tests, microbial non-detection tests, Germany Derma Test Excellent grade, and human application clinical trials.

Julia Lu Pi's core atopy improvement products include 'Ato Lotion,' 'Soothing Gel,' and 'Cooing Butter.' These products strengthen weakened skin barriers and regulate skin balance. They are mildly acidic cosmetics with a pH of 5.5, designed to minimize skin irritation.

Oh Kyunghwan, CEO of Sesangui Modeun Appa, explained, "These products are harmless enough for my own child to use, made with only the best ingredients as a father's heart for his daughter, whom we had after five difficult years of marriage." He added, "The positive response from mothers gave us pride, and especially the active product demonstrations started with confidence in the products became an opportunity for famous influencers to highly evaluate our products."

Meanwhile, Julia Lu Pi was also selected as a research project participant for skin recovery of students at Dowon Branch of Munui Elementary School in Cheongju, Chungbuk.
