Naju-si to Hold 'Citizen's Day Event' at Culture and Arts Center on the 30th

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do, will hold the ‘28th Naju Citizens' Day Ceremony’ at the Culture and Arts Center from 2 p.m. on the 30th.


According to the city on the 27th, this Citizens' Day ceremony will be held under the theme ‘Soaring Again with Citizens,’ with about 600 citizens and guests from inside and outside the city, marking the beginning of the great transformation of Naju under the 8th elected administration and its leap to a global strong city.


The theme of the ceremony reflects the spirit of the Naju citizen community that has overcome crises through sacrifice and dedication, symbolizing a vigorous takeoff toward a bigger and stronger future for Korea led by Naju together with its citizens.


The event will proceed in the order of a pre-ceremony performance by the Naju Municipal Art Troupe, ‘Citizens' Day Commemorative Video Screening,’ ‘Reading of the Citizens' Charter,’ ‘Presentation of Citizens' Awards and Acceptance Speeches,’ ‘Commemorative and Congratulatory Speeches,’ ‘Congratulatory Videos,’ and ‘Celebratory Performances and Citizens' Song Chorus.’


The highlight of the Citizens' Day ceremony, this year’s Citizens' Award recipients (categories) are Oh Kyung-gyu, Director of Bitgaram General Hospital (Regional Development), Song Jong-woon, Director of Buhwalui Jip (Social Welfare), and Choi Gong-seop, President of Nampyeong Nonghyup (Industrial Economy).


Along with the awards, videos celebrating the past achievements and dedication of the recipients who have contributed to regional development and citizens' happiness through selflessness and sacrifice will be screened.


Additionally, one recipient each of the Good Deeds Award and the Filial Piety Award will share the joy of the awards ceremony.


The commemorative video captures the vision of the 8th elected administration’s vigorous start toward becoming a global strong city with a population of 200,000.


The city expects this to be an opportunity to share with citizens the achievements and directions of the 8th elected administration’s five major policies: ‘Prosperous Culture and Tourism,’ ‘Respected Agriculture and Rural Areas,’ ‘Future-leading Vital Economy,’ ‘Quality Education and Customized Welfare,’ and ‘Citizen-centered Innovative Administration.’


Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, “I hope this ceremony will be one where citizens of Naju, the center of Honam and a global strong city, can feel confidence and pride,” adding, “Through this ceremony, we will share the vision of the 8th elected administration that will open a new era for the Yeongsan River and gather the power and wisdom of our citizens.”
