Hapcheon-gun Selected as ‘Best County’ Among Local Governments for Hope 2022 Neighborly Love Merit

Annual Fundraising Goal of Approximately 450 Million KRW Surpassed by Over 100 Million KRW, Achieving 447% - Ranked No.1 in the Province

Hapcheon-gun Selected as ‘Best County’ Among Local Governments for Hope 2022 Neighborly Love Merit Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam received the Grand Prize at the 'Hope 2022 Neighbor Love Merit Awards Ceremony'.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, received the Grand Prize at the ‘Hope 2022 Neighborly Love Merit Awards Ceremony’ held on the 26th at the Changwon International Hotel, hosted by the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea.


Among the 18 cities and counties in Gyeongnam, Hapcheon-gun was selected as the top county by receiving the highest score in the county category across six evaluation criteria, including annual per capita fundraising amount and growth rate compared to the average fundraising amount over the past three years, for leading the grassroots sharing culture and greatly contributing to the development of community welfare.


During the Hope 2022 Neighbor Helping Sharing Campaign, the county raised about 450 million KRW throughout the year, far exceeding the target amount of 100 million KRW, achieving a 447% attainment rate. In particular, the per capita fundraising amount ranked first in the province.


In addition to the Grand Prize for the best institution, Kim Hyun-cheol, administrative officer at Hapcheon-eup Office, Hapcheon-gun, received the Gyeongnam Urban Mayor’s Commendation, and Moon Seong-hyo, administrative officer at Ssangchaek-myeon Office, Song Ja-yong, CEO of Gukje Sauna, and Seo Soon-ja, CEO of Dugang Construction Co., Ltd., each received the Chairman’s Award of the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea.


Jeon Deok-gyu, Director of the Administrative Welfare Bureau, said, “Our county received the Grand Prize in 2013 and 2020, and the Excellence Award for four consecutive years from 2016 to 2019. This award belongs to all our residents.” He added, “We sincerely thank the companies, organizations, residents, and hometown supporters who have participated in the culture of sharing every year for our neighbors in need, even during the difficult times caused by COVID-19.”
