[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Ripple AI has been recognized for its artificial intelligence (AI) technology and growth potential in element technology fields such as NLP and computer vision, and was selected for the '2022 Korea AI Startup 100.'
The 'Korea AI Startup 100' is a project aimed at revitalizing AI startups and fostering an advanced AI innovation ecosystem. Each year, 100 domestic AI startups demonstrating high growth potential are selected. The evaluation is conducted by experts from Korea's leading AI industry-academic-research consortium based on an AI startup evaluation modeling jointly developed by KAIST and KT Economic Management Research Institute.
Founded in 2018, Ripple AI is a spin-off company independently separated from the 'Vision and Learning Laboratory' of Seoul National University's Department of Computer Science and Engineering to commercialize AI-related research results. Currently, it is achieving results in AI fields such as computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning.
Ripple AI has won numerous international conferences including TIPS selection, the Korea Software Congress (KSC 2020), the Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR 2020), the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL 2020), and the International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV 2019). Recently, it also received the Inno-Biz certification, a system that selects and certifies technology-innovative small and medium enterprises with secured technological competitiveness.
Based on multimodal AI technology, Ripple AI is preparing a platform service that enables video content rights holders to create new added value through its product that automatically generates various short-form videos.
Kim Gunhee, CEO of Ripple AI, said, "We will do our best together with the members of Ripple AI to ensure that the world-class AI research results developed as a Seoul National University professor create value," adding, "We will contribute to leading a virtuous cycle in the Korean startup environment by growing into a unicorn."
