County Governor Kang Jin-won Encourages Volunteers at the Gunmin Happiness Hope Sharing Project Site

[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] On the 19th, Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do conducted volunteer activities by visiting the community centers of Yeondong Village and Wonpo Village in Maryang-myeon as part of the 81st Citizen Happiness Hope Sharing Project Group.

Fifteen volunteer organizations and institutions participated, providing 22 types of services to about 35 village residents, including daily life services such as hairdressing, side dish support, and mobile laundry, medical services such as dental treatment, Western medicine treatment, and health consultations, as well as small repairs and fire safety inspections.

In particular, on this day, Gangjin-gun Governor Kang Jin-won visited the volunteer activity site to communicate with citizens and expressed his determination to further spread the culture of sharing and volunteering.

Governor Kang said, “The future of Gangjin is bright because of the volunteers who deliver great love through small help and talent donations. I hope this time provided a moment of healing during the busy harvest season. The county will continue to carry out more meticulous and thorough administration to ensure that no one is left out of welfare services.”

The Citizen Happiness Hope Sharing Project Group was first organized in 2013 during Governor Kang’s fifth term in office, bringing together volunteers who had been scattered across various organizations to increase citizens’ welfare awareness and provide demand-centered daily life services through public-private cooperation.

The volunteer group is divided into welfare, which links counseling and support projects for low-income groups; daily life and health, operated through volunteers’ talent donations such as beauty, massage, and small repairs; medical services, which provide health consultations and treatments; and administration, which distributes programs and surveys user satisfaction. This integrated service covers all aspects of residents’ daily lives that are difficult to handle solely through county projects.
