[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A man suspected of inhaling marijuana has been apprehended by the police.

On the 19th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul arrested a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act and is currently investigating him.

After receiving a report of suspected marijuana inhalation, the police arrested Mr. A near Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around 5 a.m. on the 14th.

A rapid reagent test conducted at the scene reportedly showed a positive reaction for marijuana. However, Mr. A is currently denying the charges.

The police plan to ascertain the exact circumstances of the case, including whether Mr. A has used drugs.

A police official stated, “He was voluntarily taken for questioning and has since been released,” adding, “He will be called again in the future to clarify the exact details of the case.”
