Miryang City Shoots 'Sammyeongdaesa's Arrow' at the Sacred Site of National Defense

The 3rd Miryang Mayor's National Men's and Women's Archery Competition Successfully Held

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] The ‘3rd Miryang Mayor’s Cup National Men’s and Women’s Archery Competition’ was held successfully over three days from the 15th to the 17th at the Miryang City Gukgung Range in Miryang-si, Gyeongnam, the patriotic sacred site of Saint Samyeongdae-sa.

A total of about 1,180 players from 14 cities and counties participated in this competition, which was conducted in team and individual events (senior, adult, women’s divisions). As a result of this competition, in the team event, Muwoojeong from Damyang-gun won first place; Lee Soon-joo from Haman Baekijeong took first place in the senior division (15 hits); Park Dong-su from Gimcheon Gimsanjeong took first place in the adult division (15 hits); and Jo I-bun from Haman Baekijeong took first place in the women’s division (14 hits).

Park Il-ho, mayor of Miryang, said, “We welcome archers from all over the country who have come to Miryang, the hub city of Yeongnam, in the fruitful season of autumn. I hope this competition will serve as an opportunity to further enhance pride as archers and become a place for friendship and harmony among archers.” He added, “Going forward, Miryang City will continue to actively support various sports disciplines to assist athletes visiting Miryang in their sports activities.”

Miryang City hosts top-level domestic sports competitions in various disciplines throughout all four seasons, including badminton tournaments, attracting attention from athletes nationwide. Through this, it greatly contributes to the local economy and promotes the Miryang regional brand.
