[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank announced on the 14th that it has donated 10 million KRW to the Goryeoin Village in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
The donation ceremony was held with the attendance of Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, and Shin Jo-ya, representative of Goryeoin Village, and the donation will be used for supporting Goryeoin children, medical expenses, and refugee settlement assistance.
At the meeting with Representative Shin, President Song said, "I wanted to offer help so that the Goryeoin compatriots and village residents, who are going through difficult times due to the war, can settle well and live as members of our community."
He added, "We will continue to carry out social contribution activities to provide necessary help to marginalized groups in the region and do our best to fulfill the role of a representative regional bank."
Goryeoin Village provides comprehensive services such as employment and nationality acquisition counseling for Goryeoin, child care, and Korean language education, and especially, amid the Ukraine-Russia war, has supported the entry of over 700 people into the country over the past eight months.
