Hwasun-gun Launches 'Traffic Safety Campaign' at Entrance of Hwasun Cathedral

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyuk-jun] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Bok-gyu) announced on the 14th that on the 13th, a traffic safety culture campaign was held at the entrance of Hwasun Catholic Church in Hwasun-eup, jointly organized by Hwasun Police Station, the Road Traffic Authority, the Green Mothers' Association, and Safety Security Officers, with about 60 participants.

To establish a traffic safety culture such as safe driving and creating a safe walking environment, the county conducted the campaign using promotional materials such as banners, placards, sashes, and wet tissues, emphasizing traffic regulations that pedestrians and drivers must follow, including "If you see a person, stop immediately!" and "Stop, look, and cross at crosswalks!"

They actively promoted the six major illegal parking and stopping prohibited zones, which added children's protection zones to the existing five major illegal parking and stopping prohibited zones, using leaflets to prevent traffic accidents in children's protection zones and to create a safe walking environment, thereby striving to raise awareness of traffic safety.

A Hwasun resident said, "Through the traffic safety campaign, I learned about illegal parking zones and traffic safety culture that I did not know well before."

A county official stated, "Everyone's continuous interest and cooperation are necessary to create an environment where pedestrians can walk safely," adding, "We will do our best to establish a safe traffic culture in the future."
