Gyeonggi-do Offers Discounts on Admission Fees at 35 Cultural Facilities to Commemorate Residents' Day

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will offer discounted admission fees to 35 cultural facilities, including museums and art galleries within the province, in celebration of Gyeonggi Residents' Day on the 18th.

This discount benefit will be provided to Gyeonggi residents who use the cultural facilities during the Residents' Day week, from the 17th to the 23rd of this month. A portion of the admission fee will be refunded in local currency.

This expands the existing Gyeonggi Culture Day period, which will be held from October 24th to 30th.

The refund amounts are as follows: 5,000 KRW for admission payments of 10,000 KRW or more, 10,000 KRW for 30,000 KRW or more, and 15,000 KRW for 50,000 KRW or more.

Refunds can be made immediately at the refund distribution points within the cultural facilities after verifying the purchase of admission tickets, either by recharging a local currency card owned by the individual or by issuing a new card on-site.

The refund will be given in the local currency of the city or county where the cultural facility is located, and the refunded local currency must be used within three months.

The 35 eligible facilities include ▲Goyang Children's Museum ▲Yongin Poeun Art Hall ▲Ansan Hwarang Auto Camping Site ▲Yangju Culture and Arts Center ▲Pyeongtaek Jinwicheon Recreation Area Camping Site ▲Pocheon Herb Island Botanical Museum ▲Hwaseong Banseok Art Hall, among others.

A provincial official stated, "We hope that residents will recognize Gyeonggi Residents' Day anew by using various cultural facilities in October and enjoy culture and the arts."

Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Residents' Day is set on October 18th, which marks the year 1018 (the 9th year of King Hyeonjong of Goryeo), when the name 'Gyeonggi' was first used. It was first established in 2018 to commemorate the millennium of Gyeonggi.
