[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Twelve North Korean military aircraft conducted a provocative formation flight south of the Special Surveillance Line. The military is judging this as a provocative flight.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated on the 6th, "Around 2 p.m., a formation of North Korean bombers and fighters flew from the Goksan area toward Hwangju, conducting a provocative formation flight south of the Special Surveillance Line."

Our military immediately responded by deploying about 30 aircraft, including air power and emergency sortie F-15K fighters. The North Korean provocative formation flight and our military's response lasted for about an hour. This formation flight by North Korea is unusually estimated to have conducted air-to-ground firing training.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said, "Under close ROK-US cooperation, we are closely monitoring North Korean related movements and maintaining a firm readiness posture to prepare for provocations."
