Dongshin University Glocal Tourism Project Group, 2021 Performance Evaluation 'Top Grade'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Glocal Tourism Specialized Workforce Training Project Group of Dongshin University, Jeonnam-type (Director Ryu Gapsang, Professor of Computer Engineering), announced on the 6th that it received the highest rating in the 2021 Jeonnam Province Industry-Academia Cooperation Employment Package Course Performance Evaluation.

The performance evaluation is conducted annually on 9 universities and 20 project groups participating in the Jeonnam Province Industry-Academia Cooperation Employment Package Course, based on 9 indicators including ▲employment rate ▲field training hours ▲number of participating companies ▲satisfaction survey results.

The Dongshin University Glocal Tourism Project Group received high scores for supporting various programs such as curriculum reflecting industry demand, NCS-based specialized education, certification acquisition support, employment coordinators, and one-on-one customized employment counseling, as well as for linking employment between participating students and family companies and contributing to the regional settlement of graduates.

Additionally, the operation of project group programs reflecting performance analysis and satisfaction surveys, the establishment of a cooperative system with Dongshin University Job Plus Center and the Smart Talent Development Institute, and the attraction of scholarships also received favorable evaluations.

Director Ryu Gapsang of Dongshin University Project Group stated, “We will contribute to revitalizing the regional tourism industry and expanding jobs through training smart tourism professionals and fostering one-person creative enterprises based on big data.”

Meanwhile, the project group includes Dongshin University’s Department of Tourism Management, Department of Computer Engineering, Department of Chinese Language, Department of Tourism Japanese Language, and 73 family companies, nurturing specialized personnel who will contribute to the development of Jeonnam’s tourism industry.
